WCLO's Stan Stricker reports on anonymous "Green" gift toward construction of new Edgerton City Hall

An anonymous donor has offered Edgerton a gift of $100,000 to enhance the new city hall.

A condition of the gift is to use the funds for improvements not otherwise included in the project. The money is expected to be used for energy-saving improvements like solar panels and geothermal energy. The original $1.2 million project was approved by referendum last April.

Construction is expected to begin this spring.

Awesome.

No problem with going green, but is $100K going to cover "going green" 100%? If not,why should us tax payers have to have this forced upon us?

I hate to bring such a negative vibe concerning my great little hometown. Edgerton really is a great place to live, but I have yet to be sold on the reasoning behind needing a new city hall.
