WCLO's Stan Stricker reports Janesville Area Crime Stoppers program receives some national attention

The Janesville Police Department is getting a little national attention for its use of technology in soliciting tips on criminal activity.

While attending the National Crime Stoppers Conference in San Antonio this week, Sullivan received two tips by text message. He was then asked to give a presentation about the use of new technology in Janesville. He says the other departments were impressed, a small midwestern town could respond to phone, text, and Internet tips around the clock.

He says the community should be proud of its accomplishment.
