WCLO's Steve Benton reports on electrical devices now banned from Wisconsin landfills

— The Janesville landfill, and all other landfills in the state, stopped accepting computers, monitors, TVs, and other similar e-trash as of September 1st.

Residents have several options for getting rid of their e-trash including recycling programs at Best Buy stores, Goodwill, and Milwaukee P.C.

Universal Recycling Technologies (U.R.T.) in Janesville accepts nearly all old electronic devices. Tom Pritchett, Director of Environmental Health and Safety for the company, says they can recycle almost all electrical devices and are now setting up collection locations in the county and in other areas of the state. They're located at 2535 Beloit Ave.
