Thousands of dollars in lingerie stolen from Victoria’s Secret
JANESVILLE Victoria’s Secret might have its panties in a bunch after more than $13,500 in lingerie was stolen from its Janesville Mall store.
A thief stole bras and panties from the “Very Sexy” and “Sexy Little Things” collections Aug. 20, according to Janesville Police Department reports.
A store manager reported that she went to the front of the store and saw a large number of bras and panties missing from a display, according to reports. Several drawers stuffed with lingerie also were empty.
The store manager told police she was away from the front of the store between 7:30 and 8 p.m., reports state. The thief likely stole the merchandise and exited toward the mall.
The underwear had electronic sensors to set off the alarm if they were stolen, but the alarm didn’t sound, according to reports. The sensors were not found in the store.
No security video was available, the reports state, and officials have no suspects.
Victoria’s Secret has been the victim of other thefts recently.
The store reported a theft May 12 when 75 pairs of panties were stolen, according to police reports.
A theft also occurred June 5 when 76 black, nude and white bras were stolen, reports state.

So no sensors went off at the front of the store... but are there sensors at the back of the store? How hard would it be for an employee to steal these items? And who would want so many unless they were running prostitutes or selling the garments on ebay? Were they all one size of the items? I think your average shoplifter might manage one or two items on a visit, but not dozens or hundreds.
