Video - WCLO's / WJVL's Steve Benton reports the old Roherty's Restaurant site is being cleared for a new development.

— The old Roherty's Restaurant on Milton Avenue is coming down to make way for a new development.

Manager of Building and Development Services for Janesville, Gale Price, says the 10,000 sq ft strip mall will house up seven 1,400 sq ft store fronts. The co-owners, Panda Garden on Milwaukee St. and an insurance agency, will occupy two of the spaces. Price says the city expects the building permits to be completed soon and the new structure could be up as early as next spring.

The site originally hosted a Mr. Steak restaurant. "Roherty's Restaurant and Irish Pub" occupied the address the longest. A restaurant called "The Bistro" operated out of the building up until last year.
