The town of Milton moves forward with a controversial gravel pit.
At their meeting on Monday night the Milton Town Board approved a conditional use permit for landowner Scott Traynor to use his farm property near a state wetland for a gravel mining and crushing operation.
Elkhorn based B.R. Amon and Sons plans to lease the property on Klug Road from Traynor
The conditional use permit lasts until 2018, and the project would still need state and county approval.
A group of neighbors opposed to the project have indicated they plan to challenge the decision in court.
