According to a news release from the Rock County Sheriff's Office the SWAT team and Janesville Street Crimes Unit executed a search warrant on the 600 block of South Walnut Street at 6:25 a.m. on Wednsday morning.
During the search, one of suspect’s three dogs—a Great Dane—escaped from the house and was later caught around Locust Street and Rockport Road and turned over to the suspect's friend.
35-year-old Michael D. Ruckert was arrested for possession with intent to deliver marijuana, manufacturing marijuana, maintaining a drug house, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of Psilocybin or hallucinogenic mushrooms.
The Winnebago County (Ill.) Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad also responded to the scene to disable a device that appeared to be a pipe bomb. Authorities determined the device did not contain any explosives.
Authorities also seized 10 marijuana plants, 9 grams of mushrooms and 192.2 grams of processed marijuana.
The city’s Neighborhood Services also declared the home unfit for human habitation because of “extremely poor” conditions.
Ruckert was taken to the Rock County Jail and is scheduled to be in court Thursday afternoon.
