An update on the toxic substance scare in Beloit.
Thursday afternoon law enforcement interviewed the subject who dropped off the envelope at the Beloit Community Health Care Center which contained a payment along with an unknown powdery substance. According to a news release, he was fully cooperative, and had no idea how the substance got into the envelope.
The 58th Civil Support Team has concluded their investigation of the substance and determined that it is no harm to the community. The substance remains classified as unknown, and the symptoms experienced, unexplainable.
Wednesday, Beloit Fire and Police were called to the clinic in the Eclipse Center after three employees experienced itchy watery eyes and nose and throat irritation after opening an envelope that contained an unknown powder.
15 people were decontaminated and taken to local hospitals as a precaution.
