Milton police investigate a growing number of copper thefts

Milton police are investigating the community's 6th copper-related burglary this year. Lieutenant John Conger says the burglary was discovered about 9:30 Sunday night in the 1100 block of Arthur Drive. It appears entry was forced through a garage window. Police aren't sure when the break-in occurred, but it's likely in the last two weeks. Conger says while many investigative strategies are in play, authorities are relying heavily on members of the community to report any suspicious activity. Vacant homes have become popular among thieves hoping to cash in the value of recyclable metals like copper plumbing.
