A 21-year-old Beloit man is facing a variety of charges after police say he intentionally tried to ram into a Janesville Police Department patrol vehicle early Monday morning. The Rock County Sheriff's office reports a search for the suspect began after an apparent hit and run accident was discovered on South Afton Road in the Town of Beloit. Officers say they found a vehicle's bumper and license plate left behind after a collision with a telephone poll. About 1:10 am, a Janesville Police Sergeant on patrol spotted the suspect's vehicle on South River Road near Highway 11. Authorities say the suspect veered across the center line and side swiped the police vehicle, which had pulled to the side of the road to turn around in pursuit. The suspect's car ended up in a wooded area off South River Road. Pablo Cruz-Ramirez was arrested on charges including 1st degree recklessly endangering safety, operating while intoxicated, and operating while suspended. He was taken to the Rock County Jail.
