Beloit parks may have to wait for annual burn

The parks in Beloit aren't as hot as usual this time of year.  The long wet spring in Rock County has put a real damper on a number of outdoor projects ranging from gardening to lawn work. Now, the City of Beloit Parks Department may not get a chance at some routine maintenance. Typically this time of year the Parks Department conducts it's annual burn. The purpose is to reduce undergrowth and eliminate some invasive species. Unfortunately many park areas are already greening up and the process may have to wait until the fall.  Officials are currently reviewing their options.
