Fire Crews Remove Boat from River

The Janesville Fire Department removes a capsized boat from the Rock River before residents attempt to do it themselves.

Monday the fire department removed a man from the river after his small flat bottom boat capsized.

Wednesday, crews worked to remove the boat from the river after numerous reports that residents planned to take the rescue into their own hands.

The boat itself has quite a history.  It's owner, Brian Spangler says he once used it to save a child from drowning on Lions Pond.
