The flag collection box at Kiwanis Park

Local Kiwanis Club Ceremoniously Burns 600 Flags

The Kiwanis Blackhawk Golden K of Janesville get ready to burn over 600 flags.

Since 2008, the Kiwanis club has been collecting worn out flags in a drop box at Kiwanis Park.

The flags are then folded correctly by local boyscouts, and set aside to be ceremoniously burned once a year by the Kiwanis.

This year's ceremony is Wednesday at 11:30 am at Kiwansi Park in Janesville.  If it rains, the ceremony will be moved to Thursday at the same place and time.
