The State Department of Investigations will review an officer involved shooting in Beloit. Police Captain Vince Sciame says officers were conducting surveillance of a suspect at a residence in the 1100 block Fifth Street. Sciame says when the suspect left the residence a little after 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, officers attempted a traffic stop on Grand Avenue just west of State Street. He says the suspect first rammed one squad car, then drove toward another officer who was on foot. That officer fired into the drivers side of the suspect's vehicle, and another officer fired into the other side. The suspect's vehicle ended up crashing into a nearby business. The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. He had been wanted for a probation violation through he Wisconsin Department of Corrections.
