The City of Janesville prepares to chemically treat about 200 trees as cases of Emerald Ash Borer are on the rise.
Last year there was one reported case of Emerald Ash Borer in the city, north of Craig High School. This year there have been three new reports in just the last week.
The new reported cases are at the intersection of Milwaukee and Wright Road, the intersection of Milwaukee and Court Street, and the intersection or Center and Riverside.
In addition to chemically treating 200 trees, the city will also be planting 200 new ones this year, thanks to a $50,000 grant from the state.
Janesville Parks Director Tom Presny urges residents to report all new cases of Emerald Ash Borer to the City.
