Two rescued on Turtle Creek

Two teenage canoeists are safe after a water rescue on Turtle Creek below the Colley Road Bridge Tuesday afternoon. Beloit fire officials say it took real teamwork to find and rescue the two, after their canoe capsized in the rushing water and filled with debris. A cell tower location obtained by rescuers through the Rock County Dispatch Center placed the stricken canoeists about two-tenths of a mile from 1301 East Stateline Road. First responders say the terrain and soggy ground was so challenging, they had to carry in all the gear.
