City of Janesville Kicks Off Tree Planting

The battle against the invasion of the Emerald Ash Borer in Janesville is moving to a second front.

The city is already announced plans to chemically treat some ash trees, but another one-hundred trees will also be planted in a proactive response to the devastating effects of the insect.

To kick-off the effort, the parks department plans a tree planting ceremony Thursday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock in Upper Courthouse Park.

Three trees will be planted near the corner of West Court Street and Atwood Avenue.
