Rock Co Humane Society Opens New Adoption Center

The Rock County Humane Society opens a new satellite adoption center.

On August 17th, the Rock County Humane Society will open a satellite adoption center at Janesville Petco located at 2900 Deerfield Drive in the Pine Tree Plaza.

The humane society has about 32 cats and kittens available for adoption, and Executive Director Brett Frazier hopes the new facility will increase their chance of finding new homes.

The new adoption space at Petco previously was the store’s bird room.

A grant from the Petco Foundation helped remodel the space into an adoption center.

The adoption center at Petco will be open 10 a.m. to noon and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday to Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

The humane society shelter at 222 S. Arch Street will continue to provide a temporary home to the majority of the organizations adoptable cats and kittens.
