Grand plans, to combine the Milton Police Department and City Hall into a renovated former Dean Building on the community's east side, may have too high a price tag. Construction bids now project cost overruns in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. City Administrator Jerry Schuetz says the council is exploring a new site for the city hall portion of the project. The council plans to tour the vacant former Milton Savings Bank on Parkview Drive next week. The city still plans to expand the library to fill the Shaw Municipal building where city hall is currently housed.
