Milton Police Remind Drivers of Move Over Law

The Milton Police Department reminds drivers to move over for law enforcement.

The Department has been patroling the new Highway 26 bypass for speeders and has noticed an influx of drivers who fail to move over a lane for stopped patrol cars.

Lieutenant John Congor says it's the first time his officers have had to patrol a two-lane highway, so if he's not sure if there's an increase in people disobeying the move over law, or if it's just that the officers are now starting to notice it.

The Milton Police Department plans to crack down on drivers who disobey this law.  They face up to a $177 fine and three demerit points on their license.
