Information Technology students at Blackhawk Technical College in Janesville will likely benefit from a big federal grant. BTC spokesman Gary Kohn says a $23 million investment by the U.S. Department of Labor will be distributed among Wisconsin's 16 technical colleges. Kohn says the money will be used towards Information Technology programs. Kohn says within BTC's Business Division of instruction, fully one-third of the courses are already dedicated to Information Technology. Kohn says with the rapidly changing nature of the industry, the money couldn't be more timely. Kohn says in a previous round of grants, technical colleges won more than $18 million to expand innovative programs and produce high-skilled workers in advanced manufacturing.
