Grant could help long term unemployed in Rock County

Dislocated workers in Rock County may have a chance to retrain for high growth industries thanks to a $292,500 National Emergency Grant. Southwest Wisconsin Workforce Develop Board, Workforce Operations Manager Rhonda Suda says the program will work with industries to customize training designed to assist eligible veterans and the long-term unemployed. Suda says the funds will be especially helpful in working with private employers though customized and On-the-Job training programs. In the end the companies involved will be expected to offer jobs to those workers who've successfully completed the program.
