A Janesville woman gets probation for embezzling more than $50,000 from a local business.

46-year-old Michelle Buggs pleaded guilty to one count of theft in a business setting of more than $10,000 on Wednesday in Rock County Court.

Buggs, and another woman, who was convicted in April wrote checks to themselves from the company they worked for, Janesville Brick and Tile.

In total, Buggs forged 15 checks in 2007 and 2008, totaling more than $53,000.

Judge James Daly sentenced Buggs to five years of probation, and ordered her to pay back $50,000 in restitution.
