Stolen guns concern Beloit police

A number of stolen guns may be on the streets in Beloit after a series of home burglaries in the same neighborhood. Police Captain Dan Risse says the first happened a week ago Sunday at a home in the 1100 block of Partridge Avenue. A handgun was among the stolen items. Another break-in happened early Tuesday evening at a home nearby in the 1500 block of White Avenue. Risse says two rifles and a shot-gun were taken. Also, early Wednesday morning, another attempted burglary took place in the 1200 block of Eaton Avenue. A kicked in door sounded an alarm, waking the residents, and scaring the thieves. Risse reminds homeowners to record the serial numbers of weapons to help police track crimes and return stolen property.
