Janesville Police tackle heroin problem

The Janesville Police Department turns to the public for help in raising awareness of the dangers of heroin abuse.  As part of this effort, Officers Jennifer Reed and Tom Bechen shared those goals during "Your Talk Show" on WCLO.  In 2012, the Rock County Coroner's Office reported 32 drug related deaths.  Twelve of these deaths were heorin related.  Janesville police report much of the increase in use comes from the young age groups including high school and college students.  Janesville police are also promoting their involvement in a statewide initiative known as the "Fly Effect".
