Bags of Hope fund drive hungry for donations

Only a few days are left to donate to the Janesville School District's "Bags of Hope" food drive. Superintendent of Schools Karen Schulte tells "Your Talk Show" on WCLO she's hoping more than $40,000 can be raised again this year. Schulte says more than half of all Janesville students come from impoverished homes. She says this food drive helps feed them during the holiday stretch, when the children can't participate in school food programs. The event has become a real community affair. She says students, staff, and even city workers help package and deliver the food to more than 300 needy families. Fundraising continues through Friday, with the distribution set for December 14th. The effort was formerly organized by the UAW.
