Truck hits house near Edgerton
A 39-year-old Edgerton man faces a variety of charges after Rock County Sheriff's deputies say he took a joyride in his pick-up after coming home from the bar. Wade A. Johnson was arrested late Sunday afternoon on charges including Fourth Offense Operating a Motor Vehicle while Intoxicated, Operating while Intoxicated Causing Injury, and Hit and Run Property Damage. Deputies say Johnson was given a ride home after the tavern owner realized Johnson was too intoxicated to drive. Once home though, Johnson is accused of doing burnouts on North Dallman Road in the Town of Fulton, losing control, and eventually hitting a tree and then his neighbors home. Deputies say they caught up with Johnson in a nearby wooded area after he took off on foot. His 21-year-old passenger ended up being treated at the hospital for a leg injury. Johnson currently in the county jail awaiting a court hearing.
