Beloit Police Respond to Armed Home Invasion



Shots are fired and a dog is killed during an armed home invasion in Beloit.

According to a news release, Beloit Police responded to the repot of shots fired in the 2100 block of Elmwood Avenue shortly before 7:30 last night.

When officers arrived they discovered that an armed home invasion occurred.  Reportedly, masked gunmen entered the home in an attempt to rob the residents, and gun fire ensued.

Police say no people were were injured, however a pit bull that lives at the home was killed.

The suspects fled before officers arrived, and authorities says they don't think this is a random act of violence.

This incident remains under investigation.
