Most Janesville residents can now get an idea what they'll be paying in property taxes next year. The city council added the last piece of the tax rate puzzle Monday night. The final tally, for the average homeowner living in the city and school district, will be a less 1% increase, after state and lottery credits are figured in. For easy math, that means the owner of a $120,000 home will pay about $20 more than last year. The city clerk will be sending out the new tax bills by the end of the month.
