The Department of Natural Resources will be spending some time in Rock County in the new year. DNR personnel will be using helicopters and fixed-wing planes for an aerial deer survey over the chronic wasting disease management zone. Eastern Rock County will be a target area through the middle of January. The aircraft are expected to be low flying with helicopters as low as 100 feet, and other aircraft at about 500 feet above the ground. Other areas of interest for the DNR include western Walworth, and western Dane counties.
