The traditional homeless shelters in Janesville and Beloit have apparently reached their capacity during this bitter cold spell according to Rock County Emergency Management Director Shena Kohler. That's why the sheriff's sergeant is working to get the word out about additional warming shelters open the next few days. In Janesville shelters include Trinity Episcopal Church at 419 East Court street during the day, and Cargill United Methodist Church at 2000 Wesley Avenue at night. In Beloit Emmanuel Baptist Church at1151 East Grand Avenue will be open in the daytime, and St. John's Lutheran Church at 1000 Bluff Street at night. A total of six daytime, and four night time shelters are currently available.
