Clinton fire fighters battle cold and flames

Clinton firefighters are getting a real lesson in battling a blaze in the bitter cold. They were called out for the third time in a week Tuesday morning when the temperatures was well below zero. In their latest response firefighters saved a machine shed at 8601 East Larsen Road in the Town of Bradford. Deputy Chief Larry London says they were able to contain the flames to one corner of the 40-by-100 foot structure. The farmer was able to get out the cattle before they arrived. London says responding in these kinds of conditions are tough on both men and machines. Personnel form the 16 fire departments responding Tuesday morning did get a little help from the Beloit Rehab unit offering hot drinks and a place to warm up. No one was hurt. The cause is still undetermined.
