Slick roads blamed for traffic death

Poor road conditions are considered a factor in a two-car accident that left one person dead and two others injured in Rock County.  The Sheriff's Office says 19-year-old Elizabeth B. Proctor of Evansville was traveling north on Highway 14 in the Town of Union a little before 3:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon, and lost control or her vehicle.  Her car slid sideways across the centerline and into the path of another car driven by a 72-year-old man from Granton, Wisconsin.   Proctor was pronounced dead at the scene by Rock County acting coroner Lou Smit.  The two people in the other vehicle were taken to Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center, Janesville. They were both treated and released.  Highway 14 was closed from Highway 59 to Highway 92 for nearly four hours while the Rock County Sheriff's Office Crash Reconstruction Team investigated.
