Walsh murder trial begins

Opening statements are scheduled to get underway Tuesday in the trial of a 24-year-old Rockford man, accused in the murder of an Afton woman. Authorities say Kody R Walsh was a passenger in a vehicle with Lori Daniels on September 9th, 2012.  Somewhere along I-90/39 in South Beloit, police say Walsh shot Daniels in the head, and turned the gun on the vehicles driver, Ebert Davison of Beloit.  Authorities say Walsh then fled from police, and opened fire on the pursuing officers.  Walsh eluded police for a week, but was eventually captured in Memphis, Tennessee.  Jury selection took place Monday.
