A new style of leadership training is being offered at the Rock County Sheriff's Office. More staff members will soon be prepared to lead during an emergency, thanks to the innovative training program through the International Academy of Public Safety. Sheriff Robert Spoden is opening the training to all personnel, not just those interested in command advancement. The program appears to be popular. Spoden says the the training is innovative in part because it can be accessed on-line 24-7 by anyone taking part. The Sheriff also says the program recognizes any member of the agency may be called upon to take a leadership role in an emergency, as well as, helping train the next generation of leaders within his ranks.
