City of Janesville Accepts Section 8 Applications

For the first time since 201o the City of Janesville Housing Authority is accepting applications to be on the waiting list for Section 8.

Applications will not be distributed in advance of 9:00 a.m. on Monday, March 10 and will not be accepted after 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 21. Applications will be entered on the waiting list in the order of the date and time they are received.

 All interested individuals may complete a waiting list application and eligibility will be determined when the application comes to the top of the waiting list. Preference is granted to individuals who live or work within the City of Janesville. Individuals seeking a local preference must bring current (no older than 60 days) proof of local residency and/or employment. This could include a driver’s license, State or Federal ID card, lease, utility bill, social security statement or check stub.

A Spanish translator will be available on Tuesday, March 11th and Saturday, March 15th from 9:00 am – 12:00 p.m. (noon) or by contacting the Neighborhood Services Department to schedule an appointment. If you or anyone in your family is a person with disabilities and require a specific accommodation in order to fully utilize our program, or if you desire an application be sent to you through the mail as a reasonable accommodation, please contact the Neighborhood Services Department.
