Janesville businesses file claims of over $450,000 in excessive assessments.
Blain Supply, JBRC Investments, Menards, Rosebud Partners, Sears Holdings Corporation, Target, and US Bank all previous appeared before the board of Review, which upheld the City's assessments.
City staff are recommended the Council deny the claims on Monday night, at which point the companies could file their suits in Rock County Court.
Last year, after William Hesser won his claim of excessive assessment the City agreed to lower his bill by around a million dollars, and issue almost $50,000 in rebates for taxes paid in 2011 and 2012.
The Janesville City Council meets tonight Monday at 7:00 p.m.
