The latest health rankings are out, and Rock County Residents could stand to lose a few pounds. Rock County Health Officer Karen Cain is reviewing the latest health rankings from the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute. Rock County ranks 62 out of the state's 72 counties. Cain points to socio-economic factors as contributing to residents poorer than average health. Rock County residents are doing a little better when it comes to healthy behaviors. Cain finds the report useful as one more tool in developing health related programs. the bottom line that can be derived form the report, Rock County residents tend to smoke and drink more, and exercise less, than state averages.
