Beloit Police respond to a second report of homicide in less than 24 hours.

Officers say they were conducting business in a neighborhood in southwest Beloit just before 4:30 Friday afternoon when they heard multiple gunshots.

Police also received calls from residents in the area of Eighth and Highland reporting a person firing a gun, and a vehicle leaving the area quickly.

Emergency medical personnel and Beloit Police responded and found 20-year-old Raymond L. Holloway of Beloit suffering from a gun shot wound. He was transported to Beloit Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Beloit Police responded to another report of homicide earlier in the day. Just after midnight, they were dispatched to the 2100 block of Newark Road in the Town of Beloit where 36-year-old Edward Damont Haley of Beloit was found dead of an apparent gun shot wound.

Police say it's unclear at this time if the two cases are related.
