Local tourism sees improvement

Rock County appears to be a little more popular with tourists.  Janesville Area Convention and Visitors Bureau Director Christine Rebout says the latest figures show tourism increased by 4% in 2013 compared to the year before.  Rebout says the Tourism Economics report shows an economica impact of more than $192 million, and 3749 jobs supported, with personal income of more than $81 million in wages and salaries.  Rebout says "Janesville's tourism community has grown and strengthened in several areas of the past year".  She says new and creative programming, by attractions like the Rock County Historical Society, Janesville Performing Arts Center, and Irish Fest have really helped.
