Janesville police investigate stabbing

Janesville police are investigating a stabbing Sunday night, in a home on the city's east side.  Lieutenant James Holford says police were called to a report of a fight in a home at 1602 North Pontiac Driver about 10:00 o'clock.  Holford says a 28-year-old man was awoken by noises in the kitchen, and was stabbed when he went to investigate.  Both men live at the residence.  Police say the victim was stabbed repeatedly with a kitchen knife.  28-year-old Clayton J. Courtney was arrested on charges of Attempted Fist Degree Reckless Homicide, Criminal Damage, and Arson.  Holford says Courtney is also accused of setting fire to a car parked in the attached garage, owned by a 32-year-old woman who also lives at the address with her two young children.
