Woman charged in granddaughters death in court
A 51-year-old Beloit woman accused of giving her daughter the methadone that killed her baby granddaughter will remain free on a signature bond, despite missing her court date Tuesday.
Court Commissioner Stephen Meyer says he believes Tina Stommen's excuse that she got the time of her court date wrong.
Tuesday Meyer issued an arrest warrant for Strommen after she didn't show up for court.
Strommen is charged with first degree reckless homicide after police say she gave her daughter the methadone pills that later caused her one-year-old granddaughter's overdose death.
Stommen's daughter, Tallie remains in the Rock County Jail on a $20,000 cash bond related to the same charge.
