Authorities have yet to file murder charges against 28-year-old Clayton Courtney, the prime suspect in the death of an Edgerton woman who's body was found near the Rock River early Monday morning.
Courtney was in Rock County Court Friday for his adjourned initial appearance in another case where he's accused of attempting to stab his roommate to death.
Police say during that incident Courtney said he had already killed three people that day. It was early the next morning that police found the body of 21-year-old Britney Cross, near where Courtney had told others he was going to drink and do drugs.
Courtney will be back in court on May 19th for his preliminary hearing. He's charged with attempted first degree intentional homicide, attempted arson, recklessly endangering safety, criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct, and resisting an officer in connection with the incident with his roommate last Sunday.
