A Janesville man police say tried to stab his roommate to death has yet to plea to the charges.
At 28-year-old Clayton Courtney's preliminary hearing Monday in Rock County Court Janesville Police Officer Nicholas Drout says the victim's stab wounds were fairly severe.
Courtney is charged with attempted first degree homicide in the May 4th stabbing attack on his roommate. He is also the primary suspect in the death of Britney Cross, an Edgerton woman who's body was found near Traxler Park the day after he was arrested.
Although Courtney's attorney argued that the the charges should be dismissed because there wasn't probable cause that all of the felonies he is charged with were committed, Court Commissioner Stephen Meyer disagreed.
Courtney's arraignment is scheduled for Thursday at 4:00 p.m.
