Humane Society of Southern Wisconsin is out of pets
For the first time in a long time, the Humane Society of Southern Wisconsin is out of adoptable pets.
Thanks to a national organization called Maddie's Fund, the Humane Society was able to find homes for more than 100 dogs and cats, including 30 kittens within two hours.
The two-day event also raised an estimated $60,000 for the shelter, which received a donation of between $500 and $2000 for every pet that went home.
At a similar event last year, 14 pets went home, and the Humane Society raised $9000.
The Humane Society says the don't expect the vacancies to last long, as there are already pets in the back waiting to fill the empty cages.
