Janesville City Council will put referendum on Nov. ballot

The City of Janesville looks at ways to catch up on much need street repairs.

City Engineer Mike Payne says the City Council met (Tuesday) morning and voted to fund the street repairs by borrowing 40 percent of the funds, and taking the rest out of the operating budget.

the City plans to ramp up street repair from five to six miles a year to 12 miles a year for a period of time.

Payne says the City Council voted (Tuesday) morning to pay for the repairs by putting a referendum question on the November ballot.
