Janesville Fire Department rescues dog from fire

The Janesville Fire Department saves a dog from a Monday morning residential fire.

Shift Commander Scott Morovits says a neighbor reported the fire on the 1600 block of Barham Avenue just before 9:00 a.m.

Although the family wasn't home at the time of the fire, a dog was rescued from the structure.

The fire was contained to a single room and damage is estimated at about $15,000.

The cause remains under investigation.
