Janesville man sentenced to probation for campus break-in

A Janesville man is sentenced to two years of probation for breaking into the offices of UW- Platteville professors and accessing their computer login information.

According to court documents, 21-year-old Neel V. Patel broke into Gardner Hall on campus in December of 2013, and stole office keys. Police say Patel also used a program to illegally obtain the login information of five UW-Platteville faculty members.

Patel plead no contest in Grant County Court to 16 charges including multiple counts of theft and computer crimes.
