Evansville teen injured in two-vehicle accident

An Evansville teen is in critical but stable condition after a two-vehicle crash on Highway 14 west of Janesville Sunday night.

The crash, which closed the road for nearly three hours, remains under investigation by the Wisconsin State Patrol, that responded to the scene, three-tenths of a mile west of North Fox Road in the town of Center.

The Rock County Sheriff's office says a vehicle driven by 17-year-old Arick A. Vance of Janesville crossed the center line and hit, almost head on, a car driven by a 16-year-old girl with an instructional driving permit about 9:30.

Authorities say Vance's vehicle rolled over and stopped in the middle of the road.

He had to be extricated, and was taken to Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center, where he was admitted with non-life threatening injuries.

Three passengers in the other car, including the girl's mother and two little sisters received minor injuries.

The 16-year-old was seriously injured.

Deputies say Vance will be cited for operating left of center.
