Five teens arrested in Janesville for armed robbery



Five teens are under arrest for party to a crime of armed robbery following what Janesville police say is a drug deal gone awry.

Janesville police responded to the area of Balmoral and Glenbarr Drives just after 12:30 Wednesday afternoon for an armed robbery.  The victim told the 911 dispatcher that five people attacked him and took his money.

Several officers responded to a residence on the 4000 block of Markham Drive and detained two 17-year-old males, and three 16-year-old males.

Police say through investigation they learned that the five teens were involved in a drug transaction with the victims, and that there was a dispute.  One of the teens had a knife, and police say they took over $1000 in cash, a cell phone, and a watch.
